Clinical Social Worker (Oncology)

Location: Onsite in Winchester, Virginia, United States; full-time, Monday–Friday.

Salary: $83,000–$96,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention, and emotional support to patients and families.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized support plans.
• Support distress-screening follow-up, survivorship care, and advance care planning.
• Connect patients with financial, community, and supportive resources while advocating for their needs.
• Facilitate support groups and collaborate with community organizations.
• Partner with providers and clinical staff to address psychosocial barriers and maintain accurate electronic medical records.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Current Virginia Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in good standing.
• At least three years of clinical social work experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience facilitating support groups, patient education programs, or community-based support services.
• Ability to work in an oncology/hematology clinic environment with frequent interaction with patients, families, clinicians, and external organizations.

Nice to have

• Experience in oncology, palliative care, hospice, behavioral health, or medically complex patient populations.
