TL;DR
Oncology Care Advocate (Cancer Care): Supporting patients, families, and caregivers throughout the cancer and survivorship journey with an accent on care coordination, education, and member advocacy. Focus on organizing medical records, coordinating multidisciplinary care and travel, removing healthcare access barriers, and managing survivorship caseloads.

Location: Dallas, TX — hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office per week

Salary: $22–$24 per hour, depending on relevant experience, location, and qualifications.

What you will do

  • Guide and support patients, families, and caregivers throughout cancer treatment and survivorship.
  • Partner with Oncology Nurse Navigators and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate member-centered care.
  • Provide education, answer questions, reinforce treatment-plan information, and connect members with community and psychosocial resources.
  • Request, organize, and share medical records while supporting appointment coordination and nursing administration.
  • Coordinate patient travel arrangements and help improve the timeliness of care.
  • Conduct outreach to eligible members, follow up on engagement and barriers to care, and manage an assigned survivorship caseload.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, social services, public health, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an empathetic and professional approach to members, caregivers, providers, and internal partners.
  • Ability to collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff in a team-based environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, documentation, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • 1–3 years of experience in customer service, member engagement, outreach, or a similar service-oriented role is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Experience in patient support, healthcare navigation, care coordination, or member advocacy.
  • Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or another relevant healthcare certification.
