Mold/Asbestos Analyst

Location: Las Vegas, NV, USA; onsite, full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with overtime and weekends as needed

Salary: $21–$26 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates with at least one year of relevant experience.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze bulk asbestos samples using polarized light microscopy and environmental samples for fungi.
• Enter, validate, review, and report laboratory data in the LIMS.
• Perform reference material, proficiency, and other quality control analyses.
• Schedule and coordinate sample workloads, projects, rush testing, due dates, and sample hold times.
• Support client services with technical guidance and result confirmations.
• Assist with QA processes, laboratory accreditations, training documentation, and Lean initiatives.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience performing asbestos PLM and/or mold analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in biology, geology, or a closely related science.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Strong computer, scientific, organizational, and data-management skills.

Nice to have

• Eight units of microbiology coursework.
• Knowledge of general regulatory requirements, spreadsheets, and databases.
