Mechanical Engineer - Facilities

Location: Palm Bay, Florida, United States; 100% onsite, Monday through Friday

What you will do

• Own and provide technical leadership for HVAC, process and utility piping, plumbing, fire protection, industrial water, and DI water plant systems.
• Evaluate system performance, capacity, reliability, and lifecycle costs while developing short- and long-term facilities strategies.
• Lead mechanical design activities, including drawings, layouts, specifications, design criteria, cost estimates, and capital justifications.
• Review AutoCAD drawings, equipment and material submittals, contractor documentation, and maintain as-built records.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and support operations, maintenance, upgrades, and major maintenance events.
• Manage facilities projects and construction activities while coordinating stakeholders, contractors, consultants, budgets, schedules, safety, and quality.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person status is required due to ITAR restrictions.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with mechanical facilities systems, including HVAC, piping, and industrial utilities.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, construction practices, and applicable life-safety codes and regulations.
• Ability to independently lead projects and resolve complex technical issues.
