What you will do

• Support the design and layout of HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing, fire protection, and piping systems.
• Prepare load calculations, utility assessments, energy models, design reports, code evaluations, plans, schedules, details, and specifications.
• Conduct field investigations and surveys of existing systems and structures.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with architects, engineers, designers, clients, manufacturers, trade partners, and other project participants.
• Support projects through studies, conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Self-check work and contribute to one or more projects under the direction of experienced engineers and designers.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering with a Mechanical Option.
• 0–3 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
• Fundamental experience performing engineering calculations and developing HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping system designs.
• Fundamental experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting.
• Ability to coordinate with internal cross-discipline project teams and external partners.
• Ability to work under the supervision of an Engineer-of-Record or Lead Mechanical Engineer.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Registration for or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
• LEED, WELL, or another sustainable design accreditation or active pursuit of one.
• Fundamental knowledge of applicable mechanical discipline codes.
