What you will do

• Design and engineer HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing, and piping systems for projects of varying size and complexity.
• Oversee the mechanical discipline scope, budget, schedules, and deliverables across studies, conceptual design, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Lead field surveys, existing-condition assessments, commissioning and startup activities, construction support, RFI responses, submittal reviews, and punch-list development.
• Develop load calculations, utility assessments, energy models, design reports, code evaluations, plans, P&IDs, schedules, specifications, and installation details.
• Coordinate designs with architects, engineers, designers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and designers and lead mechanical staff on advanced projects.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer registration in good standing.
• Advanced experience designing and implementing HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping systems and performing engineering calculations.
• Advanced experience applying mechanical, plumbing, fire, and building codes.
• Ability to manage complex tasks, direct others, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and travel for project execution or training.

Nice to have

• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, or food and beverage environments.
• Knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments and standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, and OSHA.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Revit plugins such as Enscape and Unifi.
• Experience with sustainable design, LEED, WELL, plumbing design, troubleshooting mechanical systems, or parametric workflows using Dynamo, Grasshopper, or Rhino.
