Senior Mechanical Engineer - Life Sciences

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design for large-scale, technically complex GMP projects, including cleanrooms, laboratories, and manufacturing facilities.
• Develop and validate HVAC layouts covering pressurization, airflow control, and environmental compliance.
• Integrate refrigeration, plumbing, and fire protection systems into coordinated MEP designs.
• Perform and review engineering calculations, equipment sizing, system selection, utility assessments, and energy modeling.
• Coordinate with architects, process engineers, clients, construction teams, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, QA/QC reviews, and design documentation from concept through construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Licensed Engineer with the ability to obtain licensure in Florida is required.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience focused on MEP systems.
• Expertise in GMP facility design, cleanroom classifications, HVAC pressurization strategies, and life sciences projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, fire protection, ASHRAE, NFPA, and applicable codes and standards.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design tools such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP, with strong leadership and coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with sustainable design practices such as LEED or WELL.
• Experience with design-build or EPCM project delivery models.
