What you will do

• Design and engineer HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing, and piping systems for complex building projects.
• Oversee the mechanical discipline scope, budget, design activities, and deliverables across all project phases.
• Lead field surveys, site evaluations, commissioning support, construction administration, RFI responses, submittal reviews, and punch lists.
• Develop design narratives, reports, construction documents, specifications, P&IDs, schedules, installation details, and equipment selections.
• Coordinate mechanical work with architects, engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers.
• Lead mechanical design teams, perform quality checks, and mentor less experienced engineers and designers.

Requirements

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical focus.
• At least 10 years of professional experience and a professional engineer registration in good standing.
• Advanced experience with engineering calculations and HVAC, mechanical utility, and piping system design.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, fire, and building codes.
• Advanced project coordination, field survey, construction support, and technical documentation experience.
• Ability to travel for client development, project execution, and training.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, or food and beverage environments.
• Knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments and standards including ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, and OSHA.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and sustainable design practices such as LEED or WELL.
• Experience with Enscape, Unifi, Dynamo, Grasshopper, or Rhino workflows within Revit.
