Maintenance Technician II (Manufacturing)

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin, United States; onsite at a manufacturing facility; B-night shift with possible overtime and weekend work.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex mechanical production equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment malfunctions.
• Complete equipment modifications and relocations under the direction of a project leader.
• Use welding machines, machining equipment, multimeters, power tools, and medium- to heavy-duty lifts.
• Document repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities in the designated system.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff, production operators, supervisors, and operations and engineering teams; mentor Maintenance Technician I employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance.
• 10+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably as a journeyman mechanic.
• Experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, fabrication equipment, saws, lathes, mills, and welders.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ability to coordinate resources, contractors, supplies, and equipment; train and mentor others; and perform basic computer data entry.
