Bindery Assistant

Location: Buffalo Grove, Illinois, United States; onsite, full-time, second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Salary: $16.75–$21.25 per hour

What you will do

• Assist Bindery Operators with setting up and maintaining complex binding and finishing equipment.
• Interpret job orders, plan operations, and set up and adjust machinery.
• Monitor equipment during production to maintain required tolerances.
• Adjust machines for paper size, thickness, folds, holes, margins, and other material requirements.
• Perform daily cleaning, lubrication, and operating-part maintenance.
• Set up and operate bindery equipment such as staplers, punches, drills, and binding-glue devices.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of setting up complicated binding machinery under operator direction.
• Basic arithmetic and fractions skills.
• Ability to accurately position materials on machine surfaces.
• Experience using hand tools such as rulers, screwdrivers, and wrenches for machine adjustments.
• Ability to hand-collate, fan, jog, and neatly stack different paper sizes.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
