Packaging Developer

Location: Shanghai, China; supplier travel as needed

What you will do

• Develop packaging solutions for new product development and business continuity projects.
• Collaborate with suppliers, technical project managers, procurement, supply chain, and other internal teams.
• Ensure packaging designs meet quality, cost, timeline, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.
• Coordinate technical drawings, specifications, aesthetic development, testing deliverables, and packaging timelines.
• Attend line trials and production start-ups as needed to support quality and timing.
• Monitor packaging-related costs and stay informed about packaging technology trends and innovations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of packaging development experience, including knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and regulations.
• Strong project management, prioritization, multitasking, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Experience evaluating technical drawings, design intent, component fit for use, and dimensional tolerances.
• Experience working in international environments and matrix organizations.
• Near-native English fluency required.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in CAD software and experience creating die lines.
