Packaging Engineer

Location: Den Bosch ('s-Hertogenbosch), the Netherlands; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Remote work from other countries is not possible.

What you will do

• Manage packaging projects from initial brief through structural concepts, artwork, prototyping, validation, documentation and production release.
• Develop accurate dielines, technical specifications and functional packaging solutions designed for product fit and manufacturability.
• Create and review production-ready artwork in line with brand, pre-press and supplier requirements.
• Coordinate prototypes, samples and approvals with Product Management, Product Development, Marketing, Sourcing, Sustainability and Compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to global manufacturing partners and identify risks involving briefs, costs, timelines and production.
• Maintain packaging data, BOMs, approvals, version control and final releases in PLM while improving workflows and traceability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on packaging development experience, preferably in fashion, sportswear, lifestyle or consumer goods.
• Experience managing packaging from concept through artwork, sampling, supplier interaction and production.
• Strong knowledge of structural and graphic packaging, materials, print processes and manufacturability.
• Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills and experience communicating technical requirements to international suppliers.
• Fluent English and existing legal authorization to work in the Netherlands.

Nice to have

• CAD or 3D packaging experience.
• Experience with PLM, BOMs, technical documentation and version control.
