R&D Packaging Leader

Location: Mumbai General Office, India; extensive domestic and occasional international travel required

What you will do

• Develop consumer-centric packaging solutions by identifying unmet consumer needs and translating insights into packaging requirements, design principles, and technical solutions.
• Lead consumer learning plans, consumer testing, and evidence generation to support packaging and business decisions.
• Drive packaging innovation from concept through qualification and commercialization, ensuring technical robustness, quality, manufacturability, scalability, and sustainability.
• Lead IMP projects and packaging technical learning plans from idea generation through commercialization.
• Identify packaging savings opportunities while maintaining product quality and consumer experience.
• Collaborate with Product Research, Product Development, Brand, Design, Engineering, Supply, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to solve technical and operational challenges.

Requirements

• M.Sc. or M.Tech. from a top university with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or a PhD in Science or Engineering with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of packaging materials and packaging engineering.
• Ability to translate consumer needs into superior packaging experiences.
• Strong technical problem-solving, critical-thinking, innovation, and project-direction skills.
• Ability to develop learning plans, set technical priorities, document insights, and collaborate across functions.
• Education or experience in packaging or packaging technology is preferred.
