Procurement Lead, EMI - HDM

Location: Chicago/Aon Center, United States. Hybrid schedule: virtual work is permitted for up to two days per week, with in-person work required at the assigned location at least three days per workweek. Moderate travel to customer locations, stores, and manufacturing facilities is required.

New hire base salary: $141,500.00–$176,900.00 per year. Performance-based bonus eligibility applies.

What you will do

• Lead and develop Innovation Managers supporting sourcing and commercialization across the mid- and long-term business unit innovation portfolio.
• Translate business and brand innovation priorities into team focus, resource alignment, execution direction, and portfolio-level prioritization.
• Build governance and operating rhythms for innovation procurement, including prioritization, issue escalation, progress visibility, and portfolio health monitoring.
• Coach the team through sourcing, commercialization, supplier capability, negotiation, contracting, launch, and execution challenges.
• Align procurement, R&D, operations, finance, quality, legal, business, category, and supplier stakeholders while removing barriers to innovation delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement, sourcing consistency, post-launch efficiency, and transition of stabilized innovations from innovation procurement support to base business ownership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, operations, engineering, or a related field.
• Significant procurement experience, ideally including innovation sourcing, external manufacturing, commercialization, ingredients, packaging, CAPEX, or related categories.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong experience supporting innovation, commercialization, supplier capability development, and launch execution in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong systems thinking across innovation strategy, supplier capability, commercialization requirements, and cross-functional portfolio dependencies.
• Strong sourcing and supplier management foundation, including negotiation, contracting, commercialization readiness, and supplier execution.
• Strong solution-oriented, communication, influencing, stakeholder management, problem-solving, prioritization, and execution skills across matrixed teams and concurrent initiatives.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, support team decision-making, escalate issues with sound judgment, and strengthen governance and ways of working through continuous improvement.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with source-to-pay tools such as SAP, Ariba, Workday, and related systems.

Nice to have

• MBA and/or advanced procurement qualifications.
