VP, Construction

Location: Tampa Division Office, 10210 Highland Manor Drive Suite 400A, Tampa, FL 33610; daily reporting to the division, corporate office, or community is required.

What you will do

• Lead and support construction operations, including hiring, training, managing, and motivating construction personnel.
• Ensure construction positions are staffed with qualified employees and provide training to superintendents.
• Manage home construction budgets and report shortages and overages.
• Coordinate with sales, marketing, and other functional peers to improve communication, scheduling, and problem solving.
• Recruit and evaluate subcontractors while monitoring quality standards, deadlines, OSHA compliance, safety, and warranty readiness.
• Monitor home schedules and quality control processes, and support land acquisition and development activities as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Business, or a related field, and/or 8–10 years of experience in a similar management-level position with a high-volume homebuilder.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience with a production homebuilder.
• General Contractor’s license, as applicable.
• Computer literacy, strong relationship-building, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to report to the division, corporate office, or community daily and adhere to the schedule.
• Ability to oversee direct reports, operate a motor vehicle, and remain stationary for approximately 50% of the workday; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds is required.
