Senior CAD Technician (Transportation)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts; work in the Boston office is required

What you will do

• Set up project templates and file structures in accordance with client and project CAD standards.
• Monitor compliance with project standards, file organization, modeling practices, and error prevention.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs.
• Review models for design coordination issues, answer production questions, and troubleshoot problems.
• Support multiple transportation projects under aggressive timelines and collaborate with production team members.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience working with transportation agencies.
• Experience with multiple CAD/BIM software and cloud platforms, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, MicroStation, ProjectWise, OpenBridge, OpenBuildings, and Revit.
• Understanding of engineering and architectural documentation, construction, and infrastructure.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple projects, and meet aggressive deadlines.
• Strong teamwork skills and experience with MassDOT, MBTA, or other transportation clients.
