Principal Scientist, Data Science (Data Products, Integration & Analysis) (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in the United States, with listed locations in Spring House, Pennsylvania; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Horsham, Pennsylvania; Raritan, New Jersey; and Titusville, New Jersey.

Salary: $117,000–$201,250 base pay annually.

What you will do

• Lead the strategy, design, implementation, and evolution of scientific data products supporting discovery research, translational science, clinical development, safety, pharmacovigilance, and real-world evidence.
• Design integration frameworks and harmonization strategies across SEND, SDTM, ADaM, MedDRA, imaging, omics, biomarker, pathology, and real-world data.
• Define implementation strategies for AWS-based scientific data products and partner with Amazon engineering and platform teams on scalable pipelines and services.
• Lead development of curated datasets, semantic-ready products, feature stores, metadata products, scientific data services, and AI-ready data assets.
• Establish metadata, lineage, provenance, traceability, FAIR data, validation, monitoring, and quality-control frameworks.
• Build predictive AI/ML models and AI reasoning models for data-driven translational safety decision-making.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in computer science, data engineering, bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, information systems, computational biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in scientific data engineering, data architecture, data products, or life sciences informatics.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale scientific data products and supporting drug discovery, development, clinical research, or pharmacovigilance organizations.
• Strong expertise in data architecture, data modeling, data product design, cloud-native platforms, metadata management, data governance, and predictive model development.
• Experience with AWS data platforms, data lakes or lakehouses, distributed data processing, APIs, data services, cataloging, and lineage solutions.
• Strong familiarity with SEND, SDTM, ADaM, and MedDRA.

Nice to have

• Experience with knowledge graphs, semantic architectures, GraphRAG, AI-ready data products, or feature stores.
• Familiarity with FHIR, OMOP, DICOM, biomarker and omics standards, and ontology-driven data integration.
• Experience partnering with cloud providers or external platform teams in regulated scientific environments.
