Principal Data & Analytics Strategist (AI)

Location: 100% remote; must live within the United States. Monday–Friday daytime hours, with weekend work as business needs dictate.

Salary: $204,256–$306,384 per year.

What you will do

• Shape enterprise data, analytics, and AI strategy across products, platforms, and strategic problem areas.
• Translate strategy into scalable solution patterns, reference architectures, capability models, roadmaps, and delivery guardrails.
• Guide initiatives across the full lifecycle, from opportunity framing and options analysis through solution design and delivery oversight.
• Make and document complex tradeoffs involving data architecture, platform capabilities, analytics and AI patterns, operating constraints, and delivery sequencing.
• Partner with data engineering, BI, AI/ML, platform, security, privacy, architecture, and governance stakeholders to align technical direction and resolve risks.
• Support large-scale AI transformations, including vector stores, knowledge graphs, MCP servers, and preparing data teams for AI adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related field.
• 15–20+ years of experience in enterprise data, analytics, AI strategy, architecture, consulting, product or program delivery, or a related discipline.
• Experience defining enterprise strategy and translating it into executable roadmaps, operating models, capability models, and delivery standards.
• Strong knowledge of data products, data platforms, pipelines, BI, governance, metadata, data quality, privacy, security, and observability.
• Experience with responsible AI, model risk management, GenAI and agentic patterns, cloud data platforms, lakehouse or warehouse architectures, streaming, semantic layers, and MDM.
• Certification in one or more major cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud or Azure, plus strong executive communication and facilitation skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, data science, business analytics, healthcare informatics, or a related field.
• MBA or experience working in healthcare, research, financial services, or another regulated environment.
