Senior Engineer - Current Product (Marine Propulsion)

What you will do

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve product issues escalated through Customer Priority Requests.
• Lead and support mechanical component design and development projects for current propulsion products.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to resolve quality issues and improve production processes.
• Develop component and system test plans, execute tests, and validate or revalidate product components.
• Work with CAD designers and test technicians, providing direction across design and testing projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of engineering experience supporting complex mechanical products or systems.
• 2+ years of direct experience supporting service and manufacturing teams.
• Experience with current production products and cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, quality, purchasing, service, supplier quality, and product development.
• Experience developing and executing validation plans, with working knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical assemblies.
• Advanced knowledge of four-stroke engines and bolted joint construction. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with marine propulsion systems, engines, powertrain systems, or similar mechanical products.
• Experience investigating field failures, warranty concerns, manufacturing quality issues, and failure-analysis results.
• Experience with reliability, durability, and validation testing.
• Knowledge of 8D, DMAIC, Six Sigma, DFMEA, or similar structured problem-solving methods.
• Experience in the marine or boating industry, including work with components exposed to saltwater environments.
