TL;DR
Engineering Process Technician (Manufacturing): Supporting the development, validation, improvement, and transfer of manufacturing processes with an accent on process testing, tooling, equipment qualification, and production support. Focus on troubleshooting moderately complex process issues, designing and modifying fixtures with SolidWorks, and ensuring compliance with product and regulatory requirements.

Location: Kirkland, Quebec, Canada; onsite work in a manufacturing environment. Domestic and international travel of less than 10% is required.

What you will do

  • Support the development, implementation, validation, improvement, and transfer of manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in new product introduction, technology transfer, equipment testing, and process qualification.
  • Define process parameters, control plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct process trials, collect and analyze data, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Provide hands-on production troubleshooting and optimize equipment, tooling, and process parameters.
  • Design or modify tooling, fixtures, and equipment using mechanical design and drafting skills; maintain related technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Quebec DEC or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Physics Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • Experience in manufacturing or process engineering environments; one or more years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of process validation, testing, qualification methodologies, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design and drafting with SolidWorks.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand both French and English; Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status is subject to security screening for controlled goods.

Nice to have

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience with SPC or process capability analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in production or laboratory environments.
