CNC Machinist (Rotating Shift)

Location: Onsite in Stoney Creek, Canada; rotating Monday–Friday shifts every two weeks: 7:00 am–3:00 pm and 3:00 pm–11:00 pm.

What you will do

• Set up, operate, and run CNC milling machines and/or CNC turning centers.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, GD&T, tolerances, and dimensional requirements.
• Perform tooling, offsets, fixture alignment, and tool pre-setting before machining operations.
• Use micrometers, calipers, verniers, CMM equipment, and other measuring instruments to verify conformance.
• Edit existing CNC programs, report improvement opportunities, and assist with machine repair and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, lubricated work area and train or assist other CNC setup operators.

Requirements

• High school education plus two years of technical training.
• Over five years of experience in related or subordinate work, plus six months of on-the-job training.
• Strong hands-on experience with CNC milling or turning and precision component manufacturing.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, tolerances, dimensions, G-code, and CNC machine controls.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and work in a loud manufacturing plant while using required PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mazak Mill-Turn, Okuma, or Haas machines.
• CNC programming experience at the machine or offline.
• Red Seal certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience operating manual lathes and mills.
