Principal Mechanical Engineer (Robotics / Mechatronics for Fab Solutions)

Location: Fremont, California, United States. Work arrangements may include a mix of in-office and remote work depending on the role and business needs; specific expectations are shared during the interview process.

Base salary: $138,764.29–$187,739.92 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Design new semiconductor-industry products and mechanical features for existing products.
• Create and release 3D models, engineering drawings, and bills of materials according to Brooks processes.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineering to meet market and customer requirements.
• Build prototypes and assess the cost impact of new mechanical designs.
• Support operations, supply chain, field service, and quality teams to sustain reliable product lines.
• Lead project estimation, scheduling, and small offshore development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 7 years of mechanical engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a New Product Introduction environment.
• Experience owning mechanical product design and development from concept through production release.
• Strong 3D CAD modeling with Pro/ENGINEER and SolidWorks, plus FEA and CFD experience.
• Knowledge of robotic mechanisms, motors, bearings, sensors, actuators, automation controls, robotics, and semiconductor system integration.
• Hands-on assembly and troubleshooting skills, knowledge of materials and mechanical design practices, and strong technical communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience filing intellectual property or patent disclosures.
• Knowledge of SEMI standards and experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience leading mechanical engineering products and performing basic machining with mills or lathes.
