Hydro Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: San Diego, California; onsite five days a week

Salary: $112,704–$169,056 per year

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of hydromechanical systems and mechanical components for industrial gas turbine packages.
• Participate in new product introduction from concept through prototyping, testing, validation, and production.
• Integrate mechanical systems with electrical, controls, and manufacturing engineering teams.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of gas turbine packages.
• Identify and implement design improvements and cost reductions to increase performance, reliability, and serviceability.
• Prepare engineering specifications, P&IDs, drawings, and test reports while ensuring compliance with standards and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience, including mid-level mechanical design, engineering, and manufacturing experience.
• Experience designing hydromechanical systems for gas turbines and understanding gas turbine operation.
• Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs and designing or sizing hydraulic equipment and devices.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and electrical schematics using tools such as Creo and Promis-E; Promis-E V8i experience is preferred.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; the position requires onsite work five days per week in San Diego.
