Mechanical Piping Designer (Industrial)

Location: On-site in Richardson, Texas, USA; Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses

What you will do

• Develop 2D and 3D engineering and design packages for piping systems, mechanical equipment arrangements, and material handling systems.
• Produce 3D models and construction documents for mechanical and piping systems within project teams.
• Coordinate designs with designers, engineers, project managers, contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Present design recommendations and participate in project meetings and quality reviews.
• Ensure mechanical systems and deliverables comply with safety, quality, standards, codes, and project requirements.
• Manage multiple assignments, solve technical challenges, and meet project schedules and deadlines.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in technical drawing or a related field, or at least four years of related trade experience.
• Familiarity with mechanical engineering standards of practice and technical specifications.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Plant 3D, Revit, BIM360, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
• Ability to read and understand orthographic drawings and create 2D drawings from 3D models.
• Ability to create 3D models from point-cloud scans using Faro software.
• Strong attention to detail, discrepancy recognition, teamwork, communication, and independent problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Autodesk Plant P&ID.
