What you will do

• Design mechanical parts, components, and assemblies for new consumer devices using 3D CAD, preferably Siemens NX.
• Create 2D engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances while coordinating with overseas vendor partners.
• Design and run experiments, perform engineering analysis, and use test results to guide design decisions.
• Evaluate materials, manufacturing processes, and design tradeoffs to create robust, scalable solutions.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, and iterate prototypes from early concepts through production readiness.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, industrial design, manufacturing, and supplier teams; present technical decisions and tradeoffs.

Requirements

• Recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Product Design Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience using 3D CAD software, preferably Siemens NX, to design mechanical components and assemblies.
• Hands-on experience building, prototyping, and testing mechanical designs.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary product development environment.

Nice to have

• Consumer product development experience from internships, academic projects, research, personal projects, or professional work.
• Knowledge of materials and scalable manufacturing processes, including injection molding, machining, sheet metal, casting, or additive manufacturing.
• Experience with machine tools and prototyping equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, mills, and lathes.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience with suppliers, manufacturers, fabrication partners, mechanical testing, or data analysis.
