Product Engineer Associate (Steam Turbines)

Location: Summerville, South Carolina, United States. The role requires 5%–15% travel per year to manufacturing suppliers. US citizenship is required due to DoD requirements, along with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.

Salary: $67,400–$97,400 per year.

What you will do

• Direct or perform the design and development of steam turbine products and components for existing and new designs.
• Conduct feasibility studies, define product design requirements, and calculate product performance in line with contractual requirements.
• Analyze test results to assess performance, design quality, and operating deficiencies.
• Develop standard performance curves, calculation procedures, and computer programs supporting design concepts and product quotations.
• Coordinate with engineering teams on product improvements, cost reduction, performance enhancement, and standardization.
• Investigate field problems and manufacturing deviations, provide corrective actions, and support the machining of critical components at suppliers.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required because of DoD requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or an aerospace engineering discipline, plus 3–5 years of experience in the steam turbine or related industry.
• Thorough knowledge of thermodynamics, machine design, metallurgy, installation, operation, and application of steam turbines.
• Ability to create UG drawings and 3D models, manage projects, and work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of Oracle manufacturing systems and software.

• Experience in steam turbine manufacturing or design.
