Manufacturing Engineer, Asia (Footwear)

Location: Hai Phong, Vietnam; Workplace: On-site; travel: 25% domestically and internationally

What you will do

• Plan, execute, and report on product, process, project, and manufacturing engineering initiatives.
• Research, test, and implement automated solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
• Commission new equipment and work with factory partners to define specifications, collect data, and improve machine performance.
• Measure manufacturing outputs, identify optimization opportunities, and recommend changes that reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality.
• Partner with Industrial Engineering and Lean Manufacturing teams to optimize processes, sub-processes, equipment layouts, and production facilities.
• Collaborate with Development, Commercialization, Production, QA, and factory teams to resolve production issues and align processes with quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or three years of equivalent experience.
• At least two years of product, process, project, or manufacturing engineering experience in an owned or third-party manufacturing facility.
• At least two years of experience applying Lean and Industrial Engineering techniques and automation to improve productivity.
• Experience defining machine specifications, commissioning equipment, and improving machine performance with machine vendors.
• Knowledge of scientific experiment design, statistics, and footwear manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
