Superintendent

Location: Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, or Detroit, Michigan, United States; onsite project-based position

Provides project execution services in environmental remediation, civil construction, and demolition.

What you will do

• Manage onsite field operations to deliver projects according to policies, designs, budgets, and schedules.
• Lead foremen, craft employees, vendors, subcontractors, and equipment coordination across project sites.
• Implement health and safety plans, conduct pre-task planning, review hazards, and support incident investigations.
• Maintain daily project records, quantity reports, cost reports, labor reports, and equipment reports.
• Support project management activities, including change notices, cost tracking, estimating, submittals, proposals, and client relations.
• Train and mentor direct reports and assist with craft personnel selection and hiring.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or equivalent role in environmental remediation, civil construction, and/or demolition.
• Experience managing large, complex projects with multiple field staff.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, project contracts, scopes, equipment capabilities, and project reporting.
• Ability to supervise and lead large teams while managing competing deadlines and working under pressure.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project scheduling software.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain driver qualification standards.

Nice to have

• Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification or 8-hour refresher certification; training may be provided if needed.
