Commercial Construction Project Engineer (2027)

Location: Seattle, WA; fully onsite for the 12-month training program, with commuting required to jobsites within a 30–40-mile radius of the assigned office

What you will do

• Participate in the one-year HITT Futures Program through onsite shadowing, hands-on learning, mentorship, and structured development.
• Maintain jobsite offices and project records, including construction documents, directories, daily reports, submittal logs, and RFI logs.
• Support site inspections, construction activities, as-built updates, coordination drawings, scheduling, material take-offs, supplier orders, and deliveries.
• Assist superintendents with survey and layout instruments, subcontractor meetings, site protection, and interpretation of construction tests and reports.
• Support project managers with budgeting and client-management logistics.
• Help implement the corporate safety program through safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety reporting.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Military experience or an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, architecture, or business is strongly preferred.
• Previous commercial jobsite experience and a strong interest in construction and onsite work are preferred.
• Ability to learn Microsoft Office 365, Procore, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and JD Edwards.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work fully onsite and commute to assigned jobsites within a 30–40-mile radius.
