Superintendent - Michels Canada (Civil)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with travel to various project sites

Expected salary: $112,000–$154,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Oversee daily field operations for civil infrastructure and underground utility projects.
• Coordinate construction crews, subcontractors, equipment, materials, and short-term work plans.
• Support project schedules, budgets, production targets, quality standards, and milestones.
• Lead field personnel and promote safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents, and resolve field issues with project stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and maintain daily reports, production records, change documentation, and other project records.

Requirements

• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Technical Trades certification, Civil Engineering Technology diploma, construction-related education, or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in heavy civil, municipal infrastructure, utility installation, or underground construction.
• Previous supervisory experience leading construction crews and coordinating subcontractors on active sites.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, underground utilities, sewer, water, and roadwork projects.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, project specifications, and schedules; familiarity with MS Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
• Valid driver’s license for the vehicles driven and an acceptable driving record.
