Pharmacy/Admixture Technician

Salary: $24.50–$31.00 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare and admix medications, including chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy IVs, under physician supervision.
• Check medication orders, verify patient information and physician authorization, and calculate dosage volumes.
• Maintain controlled-drug counts, temperature logs, protocol and patient-assistance medication records, lot-number documentation, labels, and billing files.
• Support medication and supply inventory control, ordering, basic department automation data entry, and quality assurance activities.
• Clean and maintain hoods, the admixture area, and the pharmacy department according to sanitation and particle-control requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of pharmacy technician or related healthcare experience.
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, pharmacy calculations, and related medical technology.
• Pharmacy technician certification or State Pharmacy Board certification preferred; certification is required within the first year if not held at hire.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, perform manual and visual measurement tasks, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

• Graduation from a vocational pharmacy technician program.
• Intravenous drug and chemotherapy compounding experience.
