Lab Assistant (Phlebotomist) (MedTech)

Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States; in-person. Travel between sites may be required.

Compensation: $20.85–$25.25 per hour.

What you will do

• Collect viable patient specimens as ordered.
• Perform or assist with chemistry, hematology, and immunology testing.
• Send tests not performed in-house to reference laboratories and process incoming lab orders.
• Maintain test reports, quality-control logs, equipment records, checklists, and daily paperwork.
• Operate designated laboratory equipment and perform required instrument maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of phlebotomy experience is strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to travel between sites as needed.
• Ability to handle patient contact and potential exposure to blood and body fluids, chemotherapeutic agents, infectious materials, needles, and laboratory chemicals.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
