Clinical Lab Associate I (Genetic Testing)

What you will do

• Analyze patient samples according to standard operating procedures with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain current knowledge of laboratory methods and keep workspaces clean and organized under good laboratory practice standards.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, recognize malfunctions, troubleshoot common errors, and escalate issues when needed.
• Recognize, document, and escalate protocol deviations to laboratory leads or supervisors.
• Communicate with the team and other departments, provide feedback on schedules and tasks, and support teammates with daily work.
• Handle protected health information in paper and electronic formats while completing required compliance and security training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science or a similar field.
• 0–2 years of industry-related experience.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, computer, pipetting, word-processing, and data-management skills.
• Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.
• Ability to visually discern colors or evaluate cellular morphology when applicable, and pass the required screening assessment.
• Must complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, general policy and procedure compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire.
