What you will do
- Design hydraulic and pneumatic hose assemblies, end fittings, couplings, attachment systems, tooling, and fixtures.
- Develop crimping and swaging specifications, tooling, profiles, parameters, and manufacturing processes.
- Create 3D models, 2D drawings, bills of materials, inspection requirements, and design standards using CAD software.
- Define performance requirements and conduct tolerance, material, stress, and thermal evaluations.
- Plan and oversee burst, impulse, pressure-cycle, vacuum, and leak testing; analyze test data and product failures.
- Support manufacturing, quality, sales, customers, audits, PPAPs, FMEAs, root-cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in hose assembly design, fluid conveyance, or related mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with 3D and 2D CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or CATIA.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and fluid dynamics fundamentals.
- Experience with crimping, swaging, hose assembly manufacturing, and Design for Manufacturing principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, troubleshooting, project management, and time management skills.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of SAE and ISO standards for fluid conveyance products.
- Experience with fluid conveyance testing methods, including impulse, burst, and vacuum testing.
- Familiarity with ERP and PLM systems.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
- Experience with stainless steel, polymers such as PTFE, and aerospace, automotive, or industrial fluid conveyance products.
