Focus on designing fixtures and jigs, analyzing labor and material costs, coordinating cross-functional improvements, and optimizing fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
Location: Houston, TX (TAS-AIRPORT); onsite work in a manufacturing facility

What you will do
- Evaluate production data to improve productivity, material flow, safety, quality, and cost.
- Implement Lean practices including standardized work instructions, value stream mapping, Kaizen, and 5S.
- Conduct time studies, audits, labor estimates, cost models, and cost-savings tracking.
- Lead cross-functional work with engineering, production, estimating, vendors, and design engineering to improve manufacturability.
- Plan facility and work-cell layouts and develop production tools, equipment, fixtures, and jigs.
- Support quality improvement, blueprint and P&ID-related manufacturing activities, and fabrication, welding, and assembly operations.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a manufacturing or industrial engineer, operations manager, or in a related role within heavy or industrial manufacturing.
- BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience with fabrication, welding, assembly, fixtures, and jigs.
- Experience implementing Lean processes and monitoring labor budgets and EVA analysis.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
- High proficiency in blueprint reading and P&ID interpretation, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Nice to have
- Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Experience in make-to-order or engineer-to-order project environments.
