Medical Records Technician (Healthcare)

Location: Hackensack, New Jersey, United States; full-time onsite position

Salary: $15.23–$22.05 per hour

What you will do

• Scan, attach, catalogue, retrieve, and maintain internal and external correspondence, reports, and patient charts.
• Prepare charts and ensure required documentation is available for scheduled patient visits.
• Release medical records and patient information to authorized individuals and agencies in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Process requests, dictations, forms, correspondence, and incoming and outgoing faxes through manual and electronic systems.
• Monitor physician dictation completion in the electronic medical record and follow up on outstanding documentation.
• Provide backup support to front-office staff and maintain records for new-patient meetings and related workflows.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Previous medical records experience preferred.
• Knowledge of electronic health record systems.
• Strong time management, organization, attention to detail, and quality focus.
