Principal Quality Systems Engineer

Location: On-site in Austin, Texas, United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under space technology export regulations.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise-wide QMS transformation and standardization across product lines, engineering, and support functions.
• Serve as a senior technical authority for quality systems, process governance, and documentation architecture.
• Architect and maintain controlled repositories for process documentation, templates, standards, and records.
• Define information architecture, content strategy, site maps, user flows, and documentation structures.
• Manage project scope, deliverables, timelines, risks, mitigation strategies, and lessons learned.
• Develop training programs, facilitate knowledge transfer, conduct usability testing, and improve diagnosability, serviceability, and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12–15 years of experience in Quality Systems, Systems Engineering, or enterprise process architecture.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards and audit practices.
• Deep understanding of QMS frameworks, configuration management, and process governance.
• Experience with information architecture, content strategy, training programs, usability analysis, workflow optimization, and process improvement.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder influence, and cross-functional collaboration skills; familiarity with Jira, MS Project, or Smartsheet.
