Senior Claims Adjuster (Complex Disease)

What you will do

• Handle and investigate complex disease casualty claims within the assigned authority, following company standards and procedures.
• Analyze coverage, legal liability, damages, quantum, reserving, investigation needs, and rehabilitation requirements.
• Engage proactively with claimants and their representatives to achieve appropriate claim outcomes.
• Work with brokers, insureds, external providers, underwriters, claims managers, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and review suspected fraudulent claims while promoting regulatory compliance and Treating Customers Fairly principles.
• Support team performance targets, claims quality, customer service, and continuous feedback on claims issues and market trends.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an insurance or legal environment handling complex disease claims, including asbestos, respiratory diseases, occupational cancers, and predominantly noise-induced hearing loss claims.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end claims procedures and experience with claims systems, including MOJ, as well as Excel and Word.
• Detailed knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment governing these claims.
• Ability to assess legal liability, damages, investigation requirements, and rehabilitation needs.
• Self-motivated and proactive approach, with individual responsibility for an allocated caseload.
• Strong problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
