Underwriter (Insurance)

Location: Formby, Liverpool, UK; hybrid working options are available.

Salary: £30,000 per annum.

What you will do

• Respond to client and agent enquiries by email, telephone, virtually, and occasionally face-to-face.
• Obtain, assess, and communicate information required for new business and renewals.
• Rate new business and renewal risks within the parameters set by Haven.
• Assess Motor Trade risks and negotiate rates and terms within delegated authority.
• Maintain accurate quotation logs and folders while supporting account retention.
• Ensure compliance with FCA regulations and escalate cases outside authority with clear recommendations.

Requirements

• Competence with Microsoft tools, especially Excel formulas and pivot tables.
• Confidence handling telephone enquiries and client communication.
• Strong customer service skills when working with clients and agents.
• Positive outlook and ability to handle challenges calmly.
• Applicants must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa.
• Visa sponsorship is not available.
