School Nurse (RN) - Newark

Location: Newark, New Jersey, USA; full-time, school-based position

Salary: $61,000–$78,500+ per year

What you will do

• Provide direct health services and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and emotional health concerns.
• Conduct state-mandated health screenings and maintain confidential records covering immunizations, physical exams, referrals, and medical histories.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with state laws, school policies, and standing orders.
• Develop and implement student care plans based on assessments and ongoing evaluations.
• Monitor immunization compliance and communicable diseases while promoting student wellness and a safe school environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, social workers, child study teams, food services, physical education staff, families, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Current New Jersey School Nurse Certification, or eligibility for a standard or emergency school nurse certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Current provider CPR and AED certification.
• Ability to manage health records, supplies, equipment, referrals, and multiple priorities in a school environment.
• Participation in occasional after-school events, including family nights, performances, and parent–teacher conferences.
