Senior Data Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote in Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, or LATAM

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Python, and dbt.
• Integrate data from Oracle and PostgreSQL legacy systems into AWS.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL and Java/Python data transformation logic.
• Establish coding standards, testing practices, code reviews, CI/CD, and deployment procedures.
• Optimize AWS Glue, Athena, and Redshift pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Guide mid-level engineers, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate on data models, architecture, and business requirements.

Requirements

• Advanced Java, Python, and SQL skills with Oracle and PostgreSQL experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt or equivalent transformation frameworks.
• Experience with Maven, Git, production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines, and CI/CD in data environments.
• Experience migrating data to AWS Cloud and understanding of data modeling and data warehouse architectures.
• Fluent Spanish, written and spoken, is required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design scalable, maintainable solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot, Bash, Docker, or Podman.
• Experience with AWS Glue, Athena, Redshift, API design, and integration.
• Capital markets experience, including custody, clearing, settlement, derivatives, or CCP operations.
• Experience with data governance, lineage, metadata management, observability, or monitoring.
