Data Engineer (Cloud & SaaS Integrations)

Location: Remote for full-time employees in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden and Israel; contractor opportunities are available in Eastern Europe and Portugal.

What you will do

• Build and maintain integrations with third-party billing and usage APIs to expand vendor coverage.
• Use AI throughout the engineering workflow, including code exploration, prototyping, testing, debugging and documentation.
• Own data correctness and completeness, including deduplication, reconciliation, race-condition handling and negotiated pricing support.
• Design normalized models for vendor bills using consistent units, currencies, time granularity, taxonomies and cost categories.
• Own orchestration, scheduling and safe self-service backfills for ingestion pipelines.
• Collaborate with product, support and engineering teams to identify data gaps and propose improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data-heavy backend engineering, including production ownership of dependent pipelines.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, or fluency in another language used for data engineering.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines and an orchestration framework; Dagster or Airflow is highly desired.
• Experience with BigQuery, ClickHouse, Snowflake, Redshift or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and handling pagination, rate limits, partial failures, late-arriving data and restated data.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud or SaaS billing data, cloud cost and usage exports, marketplace billing or the FOCUS specification.
• Familiarity with Go.
• Experience with financial or audit-grade systems such as invoicing, metering, revenue reconciliation or billing engines.
• Exposure to FinOps or cloud financial management products.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
