TL;DR
Hardware Applications Engineer (Marvell) (Networking Hardware): Providing technical leadership and customer support for Marvell switching, PHY, and processor SoC products with an accent on embedded hardware, schematic reviews, and system-level debugging. Focus on replicating complex hardware/software issues in the lab, resolving boot and networking problems, and architecting Marvell-based device solutions.

Location: Remote within the United States of America; some travel to customer sites may be required. Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

  • Serve as the technical lead and resident expert for Marvell switching, PHY, processor SoC, and networking products.
  • Understand customer technical requirements and architect optimized Marvell-based device solutions.
  • Investigate complex hardware and software issues and reproduce them in the Marvell laboratory using reference designs and engineering tools.
  • Support Linux BSP, U-Boot, device drivers, board design debugging, feature implementation, and platform-level integration.
  • Perform schematic reviews and resolve customer-reported issues using low-level debuggers and boot-sequencing analysis.
  • Coordinate escalations between hirify.global field applications engineers and Marvell applications engineering teams, and deliver technical training.

Requirements

  • 6–9 years of directly related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 4–7 years with a master’s degree.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical education.
  • Experience with embedded system hardware, network SoCs, switches, PHYs, SerDes, PCIe, XAUI, SGMII, and DDR.
  • Experience programming boot devices and working with Flash, EEPROM, NAND/eMMC/SPI, SDIO, USB, Ethernet, serial, I2C, and SPI peripherals.
  • Strong Ethernet networking knowledge, including TSN, AVB, IEEE 1588, TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, DHCP, and ICMP.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, manage multiple customer issues, and use protocol analyzers and Ethernet traffic testing tools.
