Electrical Engineer - Force Sensing

Location: San Jose, California, USA — hybrid, with 4 days in the office and Fridays remote

What you will do

• Design schematics, PCB layouts, Gerber files, bills of materials, fabrication notes, evaluation kits, sensor modules, and proof-of-concept prototypes.
• Debug electrical issues, perform hardware bring-up, and verify sensor and system performance on test boards, modules, and prototypes.
• Integrate hardware, firmware, mechanical components, and algorithms into customer products from concept through mass production.
• Support OEM customers with multidisciplinary technical guidance, product training, datasheets, application notes, design guides, and white papers.
• Collaborate with R&D, marketing, sales, FAEs, vendors, and customers to resolve system issues, collect feedback, and improve product roadmaps.
• Conduct sensor characterization, competitor analysis, and failure analysis while managing PCB vendors and delivery schedules.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in electronic design from proof of concept through mass production.
• Experience with Altium, Cadence, or Siemens for schematic capture and PCB layout, including multiple fabricated boards.
• Hands-on experience with analog and mixed-signal circuitry, sensors, ADCs, embedded systems, firmware, signal processing, or I2C/SPI interfaces.
• Proficiency in at least one of C/C++ or Python, plus familiarity with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, digital analyzers, multimeters, and soldering equipment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, customer engagement, teamwork, and project-schedule management skills; international and domestic travel of up to 10% is required.

Nice to have

• Algorithm development experience.
• Semiconductor or automotive industry experience.
• Experience with AI/ML tools such as Claude.
