Operations Manager Hauling (Waste Management)

Location: Winchester, VA, USA; full-time, on-site role.

Salary: $90,800–$124,850 per year, depending on the locality of hire. Annual incentive plan target: 20%.

What you will do

• Manage collection operations for commercial, industrial, and residential customers, including container delivery and pickup.
• Lead Operations Supervisors, Dispatchers, Operations Clerks, Drivers, and Helpers across commercial, roll-off, and residential route systems.
• Execute local operating plans and tactical initiatives that improve customer experience, growth, profitability, and operational durability.
• Optimize route productivity, labor hours, disposal expenses, operating standards, and department budgets.
• Lead safety, accident prevention, loss control, environmental, regulatory, accounting, and ethics compliance.
• Build relationships with customers, government employees, community organizations, and environmental groups.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience, or participation in hirify.global’ management trainee program.
• Ability to direct a large staff and develop high-performance teams through hiring, coaching, training, and performance management.
• Demonstrated business acumen, strategic thinking, change leadership, problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Process-oriented, results-oriented, collaborative, ethical, and able to optimize near-term results for sustainable long-term success.
