Principal Business Process Consultant (ServiceNow SPM)

Location: Glen Allen, Virginia, United States

Base pay: $160,000–$180,000 per year; incentive compensation also available.

What you will do

• Lead executive interviews, discovery sessions, maturity assessments, and design workshops for Strategic Portfolio Management transformations.
• Assess current portfolio structures, governance, investment processes, funding practices, delivery methodologies, resource management, reporting, and supporting technologies.
• Design functional ServiceNow SPM solutions across strategic planning, portfolio and demand management, project and product delivery, Agile planning, resource management, financial planning, roadmaps, goals, and analytics.
• Translate business needs into epics, user stories, process flows, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, decision logs, and traceable design documentation.
• Provide functional leadership across discovery, design, configuration, testing, deployment, adoption, and optimization, including backlog management and governance.
• Build client relationships, mentor functional team members, support pre-sales activities, and contribute reusable methods and SPM thought leadership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with the ServiceNow platform, including significant functional leadership on SPM implementations or optimization programs.
• 8+ years of experience in portfolio management, program or project management, product management, enterprise Agile delivery, resource management, financial planning, business transformation, consulting, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of portfolio operating models, strategic alignment, investment planning, intake, prioritization, governance, funding, capacity planning, execution oversight, and value realization.
• Experience leading stakeholder discovery, process redesign, requirements definition, functional design, testing, adoption, and cross-functional delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, with strong executive communication, facilitation, presentation, documentation, and consulting skills.
• Employment onboarding includes visual identity verification and standard identity verification, including I-9 submission.

Nice to have

• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator and Certified Implementation Specialist – Strategic Portfolio Management credentials.
• Experience with Now Assist, AI-powered capabilities, predictive intelligence, workflow automation, and advanced analytics.
• Credentials such as PfMP, PMP, PgMP, SAFe, Scrum, Prosci, Lean, or Six Sigma.
• Experience with enterprise integrations, transformation management offices, project management offices, proposals, demonstrations, and strategic pursuits.
