Customs and Trade Compliance Consultant (UK/EU)

What you will do

• Advise clients on regulations governing the cross-border movement of goods and support compliance with customs laws.
• Monitor regulatory changes and analyze import and export data for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with product classification, valuation, duty mitigation, and trade agreement qualification.
• Review dual-use goods, sanctions, and embargo requirements under UK and EU regulations.
• Prepare and review trade documentation, conduct compliance audits, and liaise with customs authorities.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate projects and meet customer deadlines.

Requirements

• At least two years of professional experience in a trade compliance position.
• Experience with international trade compliance matters and understanding of UK and European Union laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Excel and related computer applications.
• Experience with UK customs processes and systems, including MSS/CDS reporting.
• Ability to solve problems, work under pressure, coordinate stakeholders, and support customer deadlines.
• Commitment to completing 52 hours of training annually.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree.
• Healthcare industry experience.
• Understanding of Oracle ERP, courier systems, and customs allowances.
• Customs Broker Licence or a certificate from a recognized national authority or accredited local educator.
• Willingness to travel when required.
