Phlebotomist, Sr-San Antonio, Tx

Location: San Antonio, Texas. Onsite schedule: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

What you will do

• Perform phlebotomy and collect, identify, label, and process patient specimens.
• Send specimens to reference laboratories and process incoming laboratory orders and reports.
• Maintain accessioning logs, equipment records, checklists, laboratory paperwork, and maintenance logs.
• Operate designated laboratory equipment and perform waived testing under CLIA guidelines.
• Support patient flow, blood product transfusion specimen procedures, inventory control, and upkeep of collection areas.
• Follow quality assurance, OSHA, universal precaution, hazardous-material disposal, and patient confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience for the senior level.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state licensure where applicable.
• Ability to handle patient contact, blood and body fluids, needles, infectious agents, corrosive chemicals, and chemotherapeutic agents.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

• Licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomy.
