Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Oncology)

Location: Onsite in Menlo Park, California, United States. Shift: Tuesday–Saturday, 2:30–11:00 PM, with a 20% weekday PM differential and 25% weekend PM differential.

Total compensation of up to $156,194 per year, including an hourly rate of $59.14–$67.29.

What you will do

• Perform clinical laboratory assays on cancer blood samples to support disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
• Conduct quality control studies and document results to ensure clinical data accuracy.
• Check, calibrate, and verify the performance of laboratory instruments.
• Support R&D-to-CLIA technology transfer, troubleshooting, training, and assay validations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
• 1–2 years of clinical laboratory scientist experience in a clinical setting.
• Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License meeting CLIA Testing Personnel requirements; ASCP, CGMBS, or generalist license required.
• Hands-on experience with manual molecular biology protocols, including DNA extraction and PCR.
• Advanced knowledge of Google Docs, Word, Excel, basic statistics, and familiarity with LIMS.
• Strong attention to detail, flexibility under deadlines, and effective verbal and written communication.
