Controls & Instrumentation Engineer

Location: Kaohsiung, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan; full-time, on-site role supporting 24-hour field operations

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day controls, instrumentation, and analyzer support to process plants across Asia.
• Troubleshoot plant instrumentation and control systems, including valves, transmitters, controllers, logic configurations, and process measurements.
• Support process automation systems, preventive maintenance, plant shutdown circuit revalidation, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Lead reliability, root-cause analysis, FMEA, RCM, productivity, non-conformance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop technical solutions for emergency, chronic, and systemic plant issues and support implementation through completion.
• Provide technical training, maintain best practices, support SIS revalidation, and contribute to spare-parts and legacy-system upgrade strategies.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in the gas, petrochemical, or related industry in operations, engineering, or related activities.
• Preferably 5+ years of experience in process controls, instrumentation, and/or process engineering.
• BS or MS degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Computer, or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience with Siemens PCS7 and/or ABB 800XA; knowledge of legacy AB PLC systems is required for upgrade activities.
• Knowledge of process control, safety systems, SIS, instrumentation, and level, temperature, pressure, and flow measurement methods.
• On-call availability is required for 24-hour field operations, including considerable extra hours and some weekend or holiday work. Travel is required approximately 50% of the time, mostly in Asia.

• Experience planning and implementing legacy control-system and instrumentation upgrades.
• Experience with technical risk assessment, reliability improvement, and global best-practice implementation.
